Islamabad, Feb 16: Pakistan and India on Friday decided to increase the number of flights between the two countries.

Both countries have agreed to increase the number of flights from12 to 28 per week and three airlines have been given permission to operate on specified routes.

"It has been agreed that each country shall henceforth be entitled to designate three airlines each to operate the agreed services on the specified routes," the Daily Times quoted a Foreign Office spokesman, as saying.

At present, only one airline is operating from each country. It was also decided in the meeting to add Islamabad and Chennai in the list of destinations. Currently Lahore and Karachi are the only destinations in Pakistan and Mumbai and New Delhi in India

The two aviation delegations also decided to meet soon to review the capacity, frequency and additional destinations to each other’s territory. (ANI)
