Pak propagandist media continues to play foul against India
Attari / Chandigarh, Jan 28: Despite politically correct moves aimed at promoting an entente between India and Pakistan, come sundown, and it is a different story.
At this time, Radio Pakistan unleashes a wave of anti-India propaganda that is heard in villages located on the India-Pakistan border through its `Punjabi Darbar' program.
The propaganda blitz is packaged in such a manner so as to hoodwink the farmer, who at the best of times, are illiterate and believe in the world of mouth.
Villagers in the border areas, however, have wizened up to the Pakistan media's false and malicious propaganda.
"India should use radio frequency blockers at the border," demands Malkit Singh, a resident of Attari.
The propaganda seeks to create an atmosphere of uneasiness between Sikhs and Hindus and to ensure a rejection of New Delhi's diktats.
The radio's latest malicious propaganda runs like this: "India's claim to becoming a superpower by the year 2020 is hollow in view of the fact that 70 per cent of its population is poor."
This, according to A. S. Prashar, a senior journalist in Chandigarh, is a blatant lie considering India's economic stability and spiralling growth rate.
"The Pakistani media has very little credibility, since it is totally under the control of the Inter-services Intelligence", says Prashar.
The Indian Government is aware of Pakistan's propaganda , and counters it quite effectively.
It is unfortunate that radio still remains the main mode of communiaction and people in the border areas are bombarded with Pakistan's negative propaganda.
Despite this, the Indian farmer has woken up to the ways of the Pakistan establishment and media. (ANI)
