Lahore, Apr 28: Pakistan Law Minister Farooq Naek has said that there would be no confrontation between the political forces and the Presidency over the judges restoration issue.

He urged upon the lawyers and masses to show patience on the judges’ issue, saying that the government’s decision on this issue would be in the best interest of the nation.

It was wrong to assume that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari did not want the sacked judges restored. Zardari wanted the restoration, but only within the ambit of law and the Constitution. Benazir Bhutto had sacrificed her life for the rule of law and her mission would be accomplished, the Daily Times quoted Naek as saying.

Naek also said that the PPP-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) coalition would not be dissolved because both Zardari and Nawaz had a ‘positive approach’ and wanted an independent judiciary and supremacy of law.

He said that there were no differences among the coalition partners over the fact that constitutional package and resolution for the restoration of the judges are tabled simultaneously or separately. (ANI)
