Sequels rarely manage to live up to expectations. And Pink Panther 2 is no exception.

Though, if you leave your expectations behind, there are moments in the movie that will manage to make you laugh, particularly, if you have a high level of tolerance for silliness and liked the first Pink Panther.

Inspector Clouseau (Steve Martin) continues to miss obvious clues and yet, somehow ends up stumbling upon the truth. This time, the plot revolves around an international team of detectives that has come together to solve a case. The supporting cast of ‘experts’ include Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, Emily Mortimer, Yuki Matsuzaki and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. A thief called ‘The Tornado’ steals the world’s most priceless artefacts, including France’s beloved Pink Panther diamond and the pope’s ring.

Harald Zwart’s movie shows signs of good comic potential but fails to sustain the momentum. Steve Martin’s ability to pull off slap-stick comedy is the only reason why anyone would want to watch this movie.
