Omi Vaidya Wins Best Male Debutant Award At IIFA
'3 Idiots', 2009 Bollywood comedy flick, is an unforgettable film because of several reasons.
Omi Vaidya's brilliant performance in Raju Hirani directed film is counted among them too. Vaidya's 'Chatur' act in the film was highly appreciated by the viewers as well as film fraternity alike.
Recently, Omi bagged the IIFA best male debutant of the year award together with Jacky Bhagnani who debuted in Vivek Sharma's Kal Kissne Dekha.
Omi has impressed everyone with his comedy performance in '3 Idiots'. But, Hindi film industry was not on the cards for the actor.
Omi had auditioned for the film on a whim. The US-based actor wasn't familiar with Hindi and gave his trial without really interpreting the dialogues, just like his character's speech in the movie. And the rest as they say is history
Omi also won the Star Screen Award of the Best Comedian for 3 Idiots. His performance has opened up new roads for him. Next on the cards is Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Dil to Bachcha Hai Ji'.
It has Omi alongside Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi. The affable actor has also made his presence felt in trade circles by appearing at various events and functions. Sure looks like the 'Silencer' is here to stay. (With Inputs from Agencies)
