Obama tells staff, party to "back off" on Palin pregnancy

Obama tells staff, party to "back off" on Palin pregnancyWashington, Sept. 2: Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has reportedly told his staff and some members of his party to refrain from targeting

17-year-old Bristol Palin, the daughter of Republican vice-presidential contender Sarah Palin, on her reported pregnancy.

He has been telling reporters’ families, and especially children, that the subject is off limits in this presidential campaign.

Obama also noted that his own mother was 18 when she gave birth to him.

"People''s families are off limits. People''s children are especially off limits. This shouldn''t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin''s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. That shouldn''t be a topic in our politics," the Washington Times quoted Obama, as saying.

"We don''t go after people''s families. Our people are not involved in any way," he said. (ANI)
