Obama proposal high on budget, higher on deficits

Barack ObamaIn midst of his dropping popularity meter, US President Barack Obama on Monday came out with a massive budget plan. The total amount which the US government would be spending will be no less than $3.83 billion and as a result would have to face massive deficits.

The budget for 2011, which Obama has sent to the Congress, is awaiting clearance. Obama has proposed the money to be spent on reducing unemployment through heavy spending on government programs and impose a slew of taxes on the wealthy. This means that Obama has tried to maintain a balance by continuing to put money to foster the nascent recovery while trying to control the burgeoning fiscal deficits.

The deficits are believed to go past $1.56 trillion which is much higher than the last year’s unprecedented $1.41 trillion. This is expected to happen even after the president’s proposal to freeze spending on programs other than that related to the military and homeland security. "Having steered the economy back from the brink of a depression, the administration is committed to moving the nation from a recession to recovery by sparking job creation to get millions of Americans back to work," the administration said in a statement.
