Nortel opens new Global Network Operations Center in BangaloreThe telecommunication and networking services provider – Nortel Networks on Tuesday announced that it has set up a new Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) in Bangalore to provide management and support services for communications networks of enterprises and carrier customers across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

In a statement, Nortel Networks said that the Bangalore GNOC has been set up to provide “day-and-night network and performance supervising for voice and data networks”. It is Nortel’s second network operations centre in India, and fifth in the World; the other GNOC’s are located in Gurgaon (India) China, Europe, and North America.

According to Nortel Networks, the Bangalore GNOC and the Gurgaon GNOC are fully linked up with each other, in fact, they work as a back up to each other. The Gurgaon GNOC offers support and management services to Bharti Airtel and other local customers, and the Bangalore GNOC is already providing services to over 50 customers around the globe including a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Suresh Kumar, the Nortel Asia Pacific Vice President (Managed Service Delivery) stated that the GNOCs actively supervise customer networks to key out network glitches before they make affect business operations or productivity, and helps to fix them either remotely or by sending team of technicians to the customer's site.

The Nortel GNOCs help their customers to keep their focus on their core business, instead of maintaining expensive teams of technicians to maintain and manage their communications networks. The Nortel enterprise helps customers in lowering operational costs and increasing network efficiency and performance.
