Users outside Europe worst hit in malware attack: Yahoo

malware-attackWashington, Jan 12 : Yahoo has said that users outside Europe may have been affected more in the ad-related malware attack that seems to have farther reaching effects than expected.

According to the post updated on the Yahoo Help site, more than 2 million PCs could have been affected and chances of Yahoo users' personal data being compromised are high.

There are speculations that the attack may have actually begun four days prior to the estimated day (between December 27 to January 3), Cnet reported.

Samsung Galaxy's upcoming model S5 could track head movement

samsung-galaxy-s5Washington, Jan 12 : Samsung is reportedly following up on Samsung S4's eye tracking technology with new features that could be introduced in Galaxy S5, along with a head movement tracker.

Samsung Galaxy has filed a European patent detailing its new innovation that could track head movements such as nodding.

The patent application filed by Samsung revealed an invention capable of controlling a smart phone via head tracking using a front-face camera.

However, the patent does not indicate as to when or where the technology will be put to use, Cnet reported.

Microsoft to share Windows 'Threshold' plans in April

Microsoft intends to disclose details regarding its Threshold plans at a vision level this year.

According to Cnet, Microsoft will name Threshold "Windows 9" and apart from its attempt to unify the Windows and Windows phone, it will feature the 2.0 version of Microsoft's "Metro" user interface/design language.
