Madeleine McCann mystery: Search on for irate ex-employee

London, Sept 30 : In a major development in the Madeleine McCann case, police have launched a search for a new suspect, an irate ex-employee, after receiving a tip-off from the Prince Charles.

An anonymous e-mail sent to the Prince’s website says that the Brit toddler, who went missing during a family vacation in Portugal in May, was kidnapped by an angry ex-employee.

The informer claimed that a maid sacked from the Mark Warner Ocean Club holiday resort made way with the three-year-old in a revenge plot.

Rain may again play spoilsports at Kochi ODI

Kochi, Sept 30 : The first one-day international (ODI) between India and Australia having already been washed out, rain is again likely to play the spoilsport in the second game of the seven match series to be played in Kochi on October 2.

The Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in the city is being spruced up to host the match on Tuesday, even as cloudy skies dampened preparations.

The groundsmen at the stadium are working overtime to protect the wicket and the outfield, which is water logged due to heavy rains in past few days.

Baldwin County Detects Fifth West Nile Virus Case

WNBHealth functionaries have stated that West Nile virus has been found in a fowl in Spanish Fort in Baldwin County, which is the fifth case of the mosquito-borne infection in 2007.

Charlotte Plumb, environmental supervisor for the Baldwin County Health Department said that the disease was detected in a sentry chicken, one of the chicks placed in cages at different locations in the region of Baldwin and examined regularly for the existence of diseases channeled by mosquitoes.

APDM collects resignation of 236 lawmakers

Islamabad, Sep 30 : The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) has collected as many as 84 resignations from the National Assembly members and 152 from the members of provincial assemblies till now.

The APDM would furnish these resignations to the Speakers of the national and provincial assemblies respectively on October 2, as decided by the alliance.

Convenor of the alliance’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) Raja Zafarul Haq announced it in a press conference here.
