Financial incentives could promote employee weight loss

Washington, Sept 16: Researchers at RTI International and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have found that moderate financial incentives could promote employee weight loss.

In the study, more than 200 participants were recruited from the employees at one university and three community colleges in North Carolina.

Participants were arbitrarily assigned to be given no money, 7 dollar per percentage point of weight lost or 14 dollar per percentage point of weight lost, during the first three months.

1 in 4 men over 30 has low testosterone levels

Washington, Sept 16: Researchers at the New England Research Institute have found that one out of four men over 30 have low testosterone levels, but only one out of every 20 men have clinical symptoms linked to such a deficiency.

The study suggests that as men age, they are more likely to experience symptoms such as lack of sex drive and erectile dysfunction as a result of low levels of testosterone.

Sienna Miller fed-up of heavy filming schedule

London, Sept 16: It seems that actress Sienna Miller is increasingly getting sick and tired of her hectic filming schedule.

Apparently, the star seemed annoyed because her heavy filming schedule didn’t allow her to attend her former step mum Kelly Hoppen's book launch at Asprey jewellers.

"Sienna can't make it. She so sorry, but she can't get out of filming. She's working until 10pm," the Mirror quoted Sienna’s sister Savannah, as telling interior designer, Kelly.

Cell phone users suffering from ‘ringxiety’

Washington, Sept 16: A new survey has found that about two thirds of the people suffer from the phenomenon of "ringxiety” – hearing the mobile phone ring or feeling it vibrate when it is not actually ringing.

The study, conducted by David Laramie of the Wright Institute in Los Angeles, found that the more frequent a person used phone, the more often, he or she reported hearing a phantom ring.

Britney Spears not to appear at Emmys

Washington, Sept 16: Negotiations between Britney Spears’ camp and Emmy producers have ended, as Spears has refused to appear on the awards event scheduled for Sept 16, 2007.

Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host said that talks are on to rope in the ‘Toxic’ star.

“I’m trying to figure out how Britney fits into the context of television’s biggest night…I don’t know anything about it… it’s a possible first step,” US magazine quoted Ryan Seacrest, the show’s host, as saying.
