Melbourne, Sep. 8 : Former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne is meeting with his management to discuss offers to play in this summer''s Big Bash League in Australia.

Warne is hot property and both Melbourne Twenty20 teams, the Stars and the Renegades, are eagerly chasing the former Test world record-holder''s signature, the Courier Mail reports.

Stars chairman Eddie McGuire and Renegades chairman James Brayshaw, both major media and AFL figures in Melbourne, will lend extra clout to negotiations with Victorian Warne and his management.

New Delhi, Sep 8: Gate No. 5 of the Delhi High Court complex, crowded with litigants and lawyers till Wednesday, became the working ground for sleuths and forensic experts Thursday.

The area has been cordoned off and security heightened in the premises as the high court returned to business as usual.

Sydney, Sept 8 : Former Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting and wife Rianna has been blessed with a second baby daughter, whom they have named Matisse Ellie.

Ponting flew home from the tour of Sri Lanka to be present for the birth of their second daughter, telegraph. com. au reports.

The Pontings have a three-year-old daughter, Emmy.

It is expected that Ponting will return to Sri Lanka for the third and final Test, which is scheduled to begin on September 16 in Colombo.

New Delhi, Sep. 8 : A day after a powerful brief case place bomb explosion outside the Delhi High Court claimed the lives of eleven people and wounded 76 others, the national capital woke up to a tense morning on Thursday with heavy security still at the blast site and in other prime locations.

Leading national newspapers published front-page articles on the blast, with residents strongly condemning the act.

New York, Sep. 8 : Spanish tennis ace Rafael Nadal and his British counterpart Andy Murray have accused the US Open organisers of putting profit before player safety, after they rushed three important men's matches on to the courts while there were still spots of rain in the air.

Nadal was unhappy at having to play for 15 minutes while there was still moisture in the air at Flushing Meadows.
