Tabraiz Shamsi debuts as Proteas opt to bat in Adelaide Test

Adelaide [Australia], Nov. 24 : South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first in the third and final Test against Australia here at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

For Australia, three debutants are there in its top-six while South Africa have made one change by including Tabraiz Shamsi, who makes his Test debut replacing Keshav Maharaj, in the playing XI.

The third game of the series has the Faf du Plessis-led side up 2-0 and the visitors have already achieved a third straight away series win Down Under which makes the Test inconsequential towards the eventual outcome.

Trump is 'man of bad character', says Jaish-e-Mohammad

Islamabad [Pakistan], Nov 24 : Militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has described U.S. President Elect Donald Trump as a man of bad character and a threat to Muslims across the world.

In a message to its followers in Pakistan and elsewhere, the JeM said it has issued a warning to Muslims worldwide to beware of Donald Trump.

Writing in the Pak-based Al Qalam Weekly (Nov. 18-24, 2016) the JeM ideologues Maulana Mansoor Ahmad and Talhe As-Saif have stated that while the international media has used Trump's victory to create fear among Muslims, this victory was actually depressing for the United States itself, rather than for the rest of the world.

All India Bank Employees Association demands RBI Gov.'s resignation

New Delhi [India], Nov 23 : Holding RBI Governor Urjit Patel responsible for ineffective handling of the crisis post the demonetisation drive, All India Bank Employees Association vice-president Vishwas Utagi on Wednesday said that bank unions are adamant on their demand for the former's resignations as well as lockdown of the apex bank.

Questioning the failure of the RBI as the regulatory system, Utagi said that Patel, who hasn't uttered a word till now, should resign with immediate effect.

"Since two weeks, the bank employees are working from eight in the morning till midnight including weekends. Still, there are truckloads of work to do. There has been absolutely no cooperation from the RBI's side," Utagi told ANI.

A study has found that young children whose mothers supported them during play, specifically in their labeling of object quantities, had better math achievement at ages 4-½ and 5 years.

The study, conducted by researchers at Boston College, is published in the journal Child Development.

Early math knowledge is as important as early literacy for children's subsequent achievement. It can also predict later school success, income in adulthood.

The researchers developed ways to assess mothers' support of their children's math skills by examining how moms supported and guided their 3-year-olds' learning as they played with a toy cash register and blocks.
