Amul milk producers make necessary arrangements for cashless transactions

New Delhi [India], Nov 22 : Chairman, GCMMF (AMUL) Jethabhai Patel has announced that in view of the demonetization of currency notes by Central Government, the company has made necessary arrangement to pay milk producer members for their milk price through direct credit in their bank account.

He further informed that 60 percent of milk producers already have bank accounts, but, due to some vested interests, the payment was made in cash.

"We are in the process of opening of the bank account for milk producers who do not have their bank account. There has been a constant stress for the need to go for cashless transactions for the last couple of years," said Jethabhai Patel.

Kohli achieves career-high fourth spot in Test rankings

Dubai [UAE], Nov.22 : Indian skipper Virat Kohli has climbed up to the career-high fourth spot in the latest ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen after producing a Man of the Match performance during his side's massive 246-run win over England in the second Test in Visakhapatnam to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Kohli is currently top-ranked in Twenty20 Internationals and has also held the top position in One-Day Internationals, but never got a place in top 10 Test batsmen.

However, his sublime knocks of 167 and 81 in Visakhapatnam have helped him move up by 10 places and cross the 800-point mark for the first time, becoming only the 11th India batsman to do so.

Kim K likely prepping up for first public appearance since Paris robbery

London [UK], Nov. 22 : Looks like the long wait will soon be over for the fans of Kim Kardashian, who has been pictured flying out of Los Angeles ahead of her first public appearance since her robbery ordeal.

The 36-year-old star and mother-of-two, who was held at gunpoint in her apartment during 'Paris Fashion Week', is set to walk the red carpet at Denise Rich's 'Angel Ball' in New York, reports mirror.co.uk.

"She is expected to appear," an insider disclosed.

Another source added that last week people were working on "convincing" her to come.

"She would join the family on stage to accept the award, but who knows if she will speak for the family," the source informed.

India joins CERN as associate member

Geneva [Switzerland), Nov.22 : The Geneva-headquartered European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) has inked an an agreement with India that confirms the latter as the latest associate member state of the organisation.

CERN operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world.

An official release of the organisation said that India's inclusion as an associate member state follows CERN Council's adoption of the resolution to this effect on September 15, 2016.

For India, Sekhar Basu, Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy signed the agreement, while Fabio Gianotti, Director General, signed it on behalf of CERN.

The signing of the agreement took place in Mumbai on Monday.

Regular walking routine helps prevent heart disease

Washington D.C. [USA], Nov. 22 : A recent study has found that keeping a regular walking regime can help combat fatal heart diseases.

The study, titled "Walking for Heart Health: A Study of Adult Women in Rural New York" was published in Creative Nursing journal.

The researchers at Binghamton University, State University of New York suggested that moderately intensive walking improves cardiovascular risk factors in the short term.

"We know walking is an excellent form of exercise, but research has been mixed on how successful a walking program can be in changing biological markers such as cholesterol, weight, blood pressure," said Pamela Stewart Fahs, associate dean, professor, and Dr. G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker.

J. K. Rowling reveals 'Fantastic Beasts' timeline concludes in 1945

In a recent Q&A on Twitter, the 'Harry Potter' author revealed that the timeline of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' stretches over three decades.

"Our story starts in 1926 and ends in 1945. It's just too big to fit in one movie!," she tweeted in reply to a fan, who questioned, "can I ask why you decided to make 4 extra movies? Just curious if it was bc of story reasons or something else?"
