US being forced to explore alternative course to keep Pak role on War on Terror alive

Washington, Sept.18: The increasing challenges to President Pervez Musharraf's grip on power are forcing the United States to explore an alternative course to keep its crucial ally on board in the "war against terror," former State Department officials and Pakistan experts in the US say.

Experts say that there is a sense in Washington that Pakistan is going through a period of political transition and that President General Musharraf needs greater popular legitimacy in order to muster grassroots support for the US counter-terrorism agenda.

Melbourne, Sept 18: Lou Ferrigno, who played the lead in the Incredible Hulk television series and movies, will be returning to the new movie.

According to Moviehole.net, Variety via Superhero Hype report that the part however will be a cameo.

Magellanic clouds are recent visitors to our Milky Way galaxy

Washington, Sept 18: Astronomers at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have shown that the Magellanic Clouds are recent arrivals to our galactic neighbourhood.

The Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) are two of the Milky Way's closest neighbouring galaxies. A stunning sight in the southern hemisphere, they were named after Ferdinand Magellan, who explored those waters in the 16th century.

For hundreds of years, these galaxies were considered satellites of the Milky Way, gravitationally bound to our home galaxy.

Reduced serotonin levels make women more depressed, men more impulsive

Washington September 18: Scientists have found that women and men respond differently to manipulation of serotonin levels, a biochemical whose reduced transmission has been implicated in major depressive disorder (MDD), a common mental disorder.  

The study published in Biological Psychiatry involved a technique called acute tryptophan depletion to decrease serotonin levels in the brains of healthy participants.
