BHEL's Q1 Net Profit Surges 41.84%State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has recorded an increase of 41.84% in its net profit, which stood at Rs 667.66 crore on account of increased net sales during the three month period.

The company had a net profit of Rs 470.69 crore during the same period of 2009-10.

BHEL's income from operation was Rs 6,761.23 crore as against Rs 5,799.59 crore during the same period last year.

The company's net sales increased by 15.79% to Rs 6,479.69 crore as against Rs 5,595.65 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Chief Judicial Magistrate J. S. Sidhu issued the arrest warrants after the three owners failed to appear before the court in a case against them.

The case against the team owners was lodged by the Registrar of Companies (ROC) office during April, accusing them of not forwarding their balance sheet and returns.

According to data from the Food Standards Agency (FSA), about 65% of raw shop-bought chicken is infected with campylobacter, the most common identified source of food poisoning in the UK, with symptoms such as diarrhoea and stomach cramps.
