Bharti Q2 Revenue Up 42% At Rs 9020 Crore
Bharti Airtel Limited, India’s leading integrated telecom services provider, has declared the results for the three and six month period ended September 30, 2008.
The company has once again maintained its strong growth momentum.
For the quarter, the consolidated total revenues grew 42% to Rs 9,020 crore, while EBITDA stood at Rs 3,699 crore, up 37%, on a year on year basis.
The company’s net income for the three-month period ended Sep 30, 2008, rose 27% to Rs 2,046 crore over last year.
While lecturing on the results and performance, Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman & Managing Director, Bharti Airtel Limited, stated, “With record customer additions every month, Airtel continues to consolidate its leadership position in the market.”
“The successful launch of DTH service has provided another opportunity to the brand to strengthen it’s connect with the customers, while generating a new revenue stream,” Mr. Mittal added.
As on September 30, 2008, Bharti had 7.99 crore subscribers, an increase in the total subscriber base of 57%, as against the same period of the last year (Sep 2007).
Bharti Airtel has maintained its leadership position through an improved market share of all India wireless subscribers at 24.6% as on September 30, 2008, up from 23.4% corresponding to the same period of last year.
