New York, Oct 27: US vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, along with guest campaigner Elisabeth Hasselbeck from "The View”, condemned criticism of the Alaska Governor’s 150,000 dollars fancy wardrobe as sexist.

The duo claimed that GOP vice presidential nominee’s spending on her wardrobe was too trivial an issue in front of the problems that had been haunting the country.

Palin argued that she was more at home in the bargain bins. She went to the extent of even itemising her accessories.

Speaking on the ABC daytime talk show on October 26, Hasselbeck introduced Palin and responded to the garment gab-fest by calling the clothes carping "deliberately sexist."

After her, Palin took over and went on to explain her stand in the issue.

"I''m glad now that Elisabeth brought it up, because it gives me an opportunity without the filter of the media to get to tell you the whole clothes thing," the New York Daily News quoted Palin as saying.

She added: "Those clothes, they are not my property, just like the lighting and the staging and everything else that the RNC [Republican National Committee] purchased," Palin told the crowd of 5,000.

"I''m not taking ''em with me. I''m back to wearing my own clothes from my favourite consignment shop in Anchorage, Alaska."

In fact, she said that she hates to even address the issue insisting that there''s a "double standard" for women.

However, later, Palin went on to list her unheralded fashion accessories, suggesting they better reflected her true identity,

Palin’s ABC speech was the second in row when she pointed to clothes that were her own, and not those the RNC provided for her when John McCain gave her the ticket. (ANI)
