Amitabh In Hospital; Condition Stable
On his 66th birthday, Bollywood shenshah Amitabh Bachchan has been admitted to Lilavati hospital because of abdominal pain and breathlessness.
The group of doctors named his condition as ‘incisional hernia’ in the small intestine, and said they are positive about his condition.
The disease means complications from an earlier operation in 2005, when Big B had diverticulitis or swelling in his large intestine.
Physicians are dealing the problem with medicine in order to avoid surgical treatment.
Big B also has sub acute or partial blockage in the small intestine, and the physicians are hoping to suck out the blockage with the help of a tube inserted through his nose.
Doctors will try this for 24 hours if it doesn't give any positive resuly then they plan to do operation.
In a statement, the hospital said, “Amitabh Bachchan has undergone blood investigation and CT abdomen. Further treatment will be decided on the basis of what the tests show. Hospital, out of respect to patients rights and confidentiality, would not like to discuss it further.”
Doctors said that they are positive about Big B’s condition but it is clear that the abdomen remains a part of worry for him.
But, the main question for his supporters, friends and his family is how long he can tolerate the punishing schedule.
Big B's loving son Abhishek Bachchan told, “The doctors have advised him to be in the hospital for 48-72 hours and his condition is stable.”
“Right now he is under medication. He is responding well to medication. He (Amitabh) will be in the hospital for 48 to 72 hours. There is slight improvement in his condition. He will be in the hospital for at least 48 hours,” Abhi added.
