Jindal Stainless Disclosed Business Expansion Plan
The largest stainless steel producer of India, Jindal Stainless Ltd would invest Rs 10,000-11,000 crore in the next five years to expand its steel business. The company would increase its production capacity and establish new steel plants in the coming years. It also intends to provide value added services and steel products as per its expansion plans. The company would come in the form of a new corporate entity. It has changed its logo and name to JSL Ltd.
The vice chairman and managing director of the company, Ratan Jindal said that the company wants to become a most cost effective stainless producer in the world. It would also expand its business in other sectors such as mining and ferro-alloys. The company has also signed a pact with the state government of Orissa to build a new power plant. The plant would generate 500 mega watts of electricity. It would also double the capacity of its captive power plant at Orissa from 250 mega watts to 500 mega watts.
Jindal Stainless would set up a new unit for producing 800,000 tonnes of stainless steel per annum. The company also intends to acquire some coal mines in Indonesia, Africa, Turkey, Middle East, and other locations of the world.
