Aksh Optifibre inks agreement with BSNL for providing IPTV services in 20 cities

Aksh Optifibre Ltd, a fast growing manufacturer and exporter of optical fiber cables and FRP rods, has signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) for providing IPTV services in twenty cities in India on the broadband network of BSNL.

The 20 cities include cities across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and UP (West). Currently, Aksh has a seven year agreement with MTNL to provide IPTV broadband content services to MTNL subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai.

Apart from this, the company is investing close to US$ 8 million to expand its production capacity of optical fibre cable and FRP rods by 20-50 per cent. At present, the company has two plants at Bhiwadi and one at Jatpura, Rajasthan.
The company currently manufactures 1.5 million kms of fibre per year, 100,000 kms of optical fibre cables per year, and half a million kms of FRP rods per year.
