Dr Reddy's Labs, Country’s leading domestic pharmaceutical company, has announced the launch of Omez Insta in sachets.

Omez Insta (Omeprazole 20mg + Sodium bicarbonate 1680mg buffer) is the first and only immediate release oral Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) available as powder for oral suspension with significantly improved pharmacokinetic profile.

Earlier Omez was consumed in the body by using proton pump inhibitor (PPI).

The latest powder formulation mainly provides instant relief in acute gastritis. Further, it is also used in the treatment of critically ill patients who are using tube feeding.

The company claims that the drug reduces the intra gastric acidity (acid concentration in stomach) by 78 per cent within first 30 minutes of ingestion.

Omez is the leading brand of Dr Reddy's in the gastrointestinal segment. The formulation is approved by the USFDA and is available in the US market since October 2004.
