Over 50,000 pre-orders placed for ZEEKR’s budget-friendly 007 Electric Sedan
In just forty days since the spectacular debut of ZEEKR’s budget-friendly 007 electric sedan, Chinese consumers’ response for the EV has been nothing short of spectacular. Available with a starting price tag of less than $30,000, the 007 e-sedan has amassed an impressive tally of more than 50,000 pre-orders, positioning itself as a frontrunner in the mass-market EV segment.
Owned by Chinese multinational automotive group Geely, ZEEKR has been making waves not only in its own country but also in foreign markets. With aspirations to expand its footprint into European markets, the brand currently offers EVs like the flagship 001 shooting brake, the performance-oriented 001 FR variant, the multipurpose vehicle (MPV) 009, and the newly-introduced ZEEKR X SUV.
The launch of the 007 electric sedan marks a significant milestone for the ZEEKR as it is the brand’s first-ever electric sedan designed to capture the attention of the mass market. The sedan's official unveiling followed the brand’s IPO filing in the United States. It also followed the company’s tech day where it introduced the its in-house battery technology. The ZEEKR 007 e-sedan has been launched in China, with an aim to target budget-conscious consumers. Deliveries of the e-sedan are set to commence in early 2024. In total, 51,569 individuals have already placed orders for the EV.
The list of noteworthy features of the 007 e-sedan includes its integrated mega-casting rear-end aluminum body, which boasts an outstanding torsional stiffness of 43,500 Nm/deg. The e-sedan also introduces the brand’s in-house developed audio system and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which incorporates a LiDAR sensor, 12 HD cameras, and 5-mm-wave radars.
Underpinning the new EV’s performance is ZEEKR's advanced 800V platform, which features the debut of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The Standard Range version comes equipped with this cutting-edge battery technology, and offers a CLTC driving range of 688 km (roughly 428 miles) on a single charge. The long-range version of the vehicle, featuring Qilin batteries from CATL, promises an outstanding range of 870 km (roughly 540 miles).
Headquartered in Zhejiang, ZEEKR will offer the 007 in five different trim options, including two single-motor versions and three dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions, with competitive prices ranging from RMB 209,900 (approx. $29,475) to RMB 299,900 (approx. $42,300).
