Hong Kong aid worker killed in car accident in Inner Mongolia
Hong Kong - A 26-year-old Hong Kong aid worker has died in a bus crash in Inner Mongolia which also injured 10 other volunteers, a news report said Wednesday.
The accident happened when the volunteers from World Emergency Relief Hong Kong were on their way back to the airport in Hohhot after visiting children living in poverty.
The South China Morning Post said the tour bus in which they were travelling flipped over on a highway at around 11am Tuesday.
The man, surnamed Tao, was declared dead in hospital. Three other men and seven women volunteers received non life-threatening injuries and were described as being "stable" in hospital.
Hong Kong Immigration Department said officers were on their way to Inner Mongolia to provide assistance to those affected Wednesday. (dpa)
