India@75 attracts several industry stalwarts
A number of India Inc stalwarts on Thursday participated in the launch event of India@75: Call to Action - an initiative that aims to create an inclusive, sustainable and developed India by the year of 2022.
India@75 was brain child of late professor C.K. Prahalad, who conceptualized the initiative in 2007, 60th year of India's independence. The initiative wants the country to develop in three dimensions, viz. strong economic resilience, technical vitality and energetic moral leadership.
Godrej Group's chief Adi Godrej, who is also the chairman of India@75 Foundation, urged people from all walks of life to become a part of India@75 saying the initiative is by the people and for the people.
Tata Group Chairman Cyrus Mistry said he was looking forward to this new platform to prove as a catalyst of change for the country.
Rahul Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Auto, stressed that the private sector should play an active role in carrying out the required developments.
Arun Maira, a member of the planning commission, was also presents at the event. He described India@75 as a "forward looking" action that would inspire Indians to shape the country's future.
Apart from the above-mentioned personalities, CII president S Gopalakrishnan, lyricist Javed Akhtar, politician Priya Dutt, former Indian hockey team captain Viren Rasquinha were among others, who pledged their support for the initiative.
