Chidambaram to embark upon four-day visit to the United States
In a bid to attract more American companies to invest in India's various sectors, Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram is all set to embark upon a four-day tour to the United States.
During the four-day visit starting July 9, Mr. Chidambaram will hold several high-level meetings with the country's top business leaders and senior administrative officials and brief them opportunities in various India sectors.
The union finance ministry said in a statement, "The Finance Minister is likely to discuss the issue of investment by U. S. companies in India, especially in infra sector, various policy measures taken by the government to boost investment in the country."
He will also meet his U. S. counterpart and U. S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew in Washington.
The list of business leaders who are scheduled to meet the Indian finance minister includes Microsoft's Executive Vice President Brad Smith, Walmart Asia chief executive Scott Price, and Boeing International President Sheperd W. Hill.
On 11th of July, Mr. Chidambaram will deliver his key note address at the U. S.-India Business Council Leadership Summit.
