T-Mobile announces low-cost GoSmart Mobile unlimited prepaid plans
For the benefit of the highly budget-minded customers, T-Mobile has recently announced a new service - dubbed GoSmart Mobile - which enables the users to access low-cost unlimited prepaid plans.
Beginning at $30 per month, T-Mobile's new GoSmart Mobile plans are chiefly aimed at those users who do not want to be locked into a service contract; and want to keep high monthly costs at bay, without making any sacrifices in their mobile usage.
The $30 a month GoSmart Mobile plan included unlimited talk and text; and, at an additional $5 monthly cost, users can get the advantage of unlimited Internet access, but only on T-Mobile's 2G GPRS and EDGE networks.
The most expensive $45 per month GoSmart Mobile plan allows the users to upgrade to the 3G HSPA network and get 5 GB of data, after which the speeds get throttled down to 2G. However, with T-Mobile specifically mentioning 3G, even though it is marketing its HSPA+ network as 4G, the users on the $45 plan will probably not get access to the full bandwidth available over the carrier's data networks.
With the low-cost GoSmart Mobile unlimited prepaid plans essentially aimed at consumers who earn between $30,000 and $40,000 per annum, and also the younger users whose mobile usage basically includes texting and checking Facebook, Shailendra Gujarati - Marketing Director of GoSmart Mobile - told the Seattle Times: "We are looking at customers whose predominant needs when it comes to wireless are talking, texting, or entry-level data services."
