Fisker has held talks with prospective strategic partners

Fisker has held talks with prospective strategic partners In its ongoing attempts to bring about a reduction in its costs and to raise funds for developing `Atlantic' hybrid model, Fisker Automotive - the Anaheim, California-based electric hybrid automaker behind the `Karma' plug-in hybrid
- has reportedly held talks with prospective strategic partners.

In conversation with the reporters at the Automotive Press Association event on Monday, Fisker's CEO Tony Posawatz said that the 2007-founded company would probably "of value to many partners in the future" because the automaker is largely believed to be "an interesting company with some very, very attractive positives and technologies."

About Fisker banking on the Atlantic - its second hybrid model - to resurrect its image after the setbacks its face with the over-$100,000 release of its Karma hybrid, CEO Tony Posawatz said at the event that the company is tasked with launching the Atlantic in the market.

After having faced launch delays with the Karma earlier this year, due to the US Department of Energy's decision to freeze the unused part of its $529 million loan to the automaker, Fisker is hopeful that the launch of the Atlantic - which costs nearly $55,000 for the base model - will be a notable move in the direction of restoring its image.

Meanwhile, revealing that Fisker - which has raised $1.2 billion till now - is also working in the direction of going public, Posawatz said: "We'll see how the markets fare. Certainly, without a doubt, it is out desire to prepare the company to be a public company."
