Auto Expo 2012 to be held from 5 to 11 January in Delhi
The latest edition of India's most important auto sector event, the Auto Expo 2012 is scheduled to be organized from 5 to 11 January at Pragati Maidan, in Delhi.
The largest automotive show in India will see a significantly enlarged participation from international players. There are huge consignments from German and Chinese auto makers from the international market while Indian manufacturers have enthusiastically booked up space.
"The auto industry is becoming the pride of the Indian industry, in fact it is becoming a major player internationally," observed Rajive Kaul, Chairman, Steering Committee, Auto Expo 2012.
International players are increasingly looking at the Indian market because it is one of the very few markets offering growth prospects compared to the stagnated markets in the developed world. Indian market also has a huge potential for growth in the coming years as the car ownership is still low in Asia's third largest economy.
Global auto sector is focusing on India to drive growth as the demand comes to a standstill in western markets. The Auto Expo 2012 with its theme, `Mobility for all', is expected to attract a huge number of people in India to newer models that are affordable and offer the best technology in the world.
Global automakers are focusing increasing on India as the competition in the world's second largest car market is increasing. The automakers are lining up models to be displayed at the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi in order to attract more customers. More than 60 new models from different manufacturers will be showcased at the expo in Delhi.
