Food Inflation Dipped on Weekend, Though Records Annual IncreaseThere’s good news and a bad one as well. Let’s start with bad one so you can savor the good one till time. Inflation is increasing per annum with everything getting expensive whether its onion which has rise up by 42.3%, while potato has gone up by 13.38%.

Good news is that food inflation for this week has come down at 9.55% and pulses as well as wheat has also declined it prices. Till last week, food inflation was 10.05% according to Wholesale Price Index (WPI).

To tell in details: pulses rate dropped 1.56% and wheat prices fell by 1.04%. This seems to be like a drop of water in a desert as not only vegetables but fruits also have gone dearer, when compared, vegetables rose by 24.2% and fruits gone dearer by 16.57%.

When vegetables are being sold at sky- high rates then leave aside poultry items. Eggs, chicken have increased prices up to 7.26% and dairy products like cheeses and milk have gone expensive by 9.12%.

Dip in the food inflation is attributed to the slow growth in the prices, but it is said that prices would increase. Non-food items have gone dearer by 19.88%.
