Prices Hike for PotatoesAccording to the news, it was reported that the prices of potato would increase soon. The future price of potatoes has surprised many people. The price will increase by Rs 5.60 to Rs 441.30 per quintal from today, as there is a rise in demand in the spot market.

Analysts have reported that the rise in demand of the potato is the reason behind the increasing prices of potato in the market.

The potato for July delivery has increased by Rs 2.20 or 0.43%, to Rs 509.20 per quintal, with a trade volume of 178 lots. At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in August rise up by Rs 17 or 0.61% to Rs 2,817 per quintal, with an open interest of 25,480 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for September delivery has increased by Rs 5.60 or 1.29%, to Rs 441.30 per quintal, with a business turnover of 161 lots.

The prices of sugar are also increasing. They have risen by Rs 16 or 0.58% to Rs 2,773 per quintal, with an open interest in 28,710 lots. It had ended at 1.32% higher at Rs 2,766 per quintal as compared with the previous session.
