BSNL Plans to Raise Rs 3k Cr Revenue from Enterprise Biz
The financially crippled state-owned telecom company, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is expecting to raise funds in the near future to reinstate its lost credibility and position in the market. As per reports, BSNL is expecting to garner almost Rs 3,000 crore this fiscal (FY'11-12) from its enterprise business.
Moreover, BSNL is focused to devise strategies to stabilize its dithering situation along with its sister concern MTNL. If reports are to be believed, BSNL had suffered a major loss of Rs 1,823 crore on revenue of Rs 32,046 crore in 2009-2010, putting question on the long-term viability of their business.
Moreover, the Union Human Resource Minister, Kabil Sibal, who also holds the charge of telecom ministry, has confirmed that BSNL is drafting plans to lease out its space on mobile towers to other operators for financial gains.
In addition, BSNL is reported to contribute to a huge extent through a countrywide project to link all villages with optical fibre cables (OFC) in the coming years.
Though a close look is being kept by the union minister over the performance of BSNL, the looming threat over the future of Telecom Company amid the financial constraints’ seems to be uncertain.
