Anne Hathaway Mimics Kate Middleton On 'Saturday Night Live'

`Princess Diaries' actress Anne Hathaway was a delight to watch this weekend as she took to anchoring on the famous show 'Saturday Night Live'.

In one of the funniest moments ever, Anne spoofed the newly-engaged Kate Middleton as she tried to mimic her clad in a knee-length blue dress that resembled Kate's popular frock that she wrapped for her engagement with Prince William.

The episode had Anne spoofing Kate and actor Andy Samberg essaying Prince William to the best of his ability. Anne brought back memories of her royal days (as Princess Diaries) when she pronounced her engagement news to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip (staged by Fred Armisen and Bill Hader).

The scene turned hilarious after Prince William left leaving the other two to hurl abuses at Anne accusing her of greed for a piece of the palace. Fred was like a laughter gas in the garbs of Queen and conjured up a great performance that earned him quite a few brownie points from the critics.

While such blatant mockery may not go down well with some quarters, let's admit that it was done in good humour and there was no intent on the show's part to humiliate or malign the image of the royal figurines.

So, those who did tune into your TV sets to watch the unfolding of that spectacular performance, would appreciate Anne and other's attempt at the royal rendezvous.
