Owl Supplier Of A Harry Potter Film Faces Legal Charges
A couple who had supplied a tawny owl named Cuddle for a 'Harry Potter' film is now facing a legal trouble. 70-year-old Victoria Menham and her 64-year-old husband Reinhard have been accused of a total of 36 charges, 18 each. They have been charged for causing suffering to a total of 18 animals including goats, hen, rabbits and guinea pigs. They have further been accused of failing to put sick animals down. The couple runs a sanctuary called the Rescuers Wildlife Sanctuary in Benfleet, Essex.
This couple had supplied the owl called Cuddle for the film 'Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire'. After being accused the couple did not enter pleas and there have been reports that they are in the midst of negotiations. Southend Magistrates have heard that the RSPCA have agreed to withdraw the charges that have been filed if the couple plans to retire and relocate the animals. Menham, as reported by The Daily Press, has said that she and her husband love animals and have never been cruel to them.
