Deepwater Horizon blowout preventer was faulty-Says US CongressThe investigation department of US congress has said that the preventer device of the oil leak was faulty. After the major rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico BP operated well, the Congress has cited this fact to the Senate.

The investigators have found out that the blowout preventer (BOP) which is a set of valves had a hydraulic leakage. It had also has a failed battery which has been the basic cause of the mishap.

But on the other hand Oil industry Chief has said that it is too early to make any conclusion about the cause of oil spill. He has reveled that more investigation needed to find out the actual cause of such disaster.

A climate change bill has been submitted to the Senate which is based on the offshore drilling plans. The bill is based on the American Power Act. The Senator John Kerry has said that the bill is for the energy independence.

This bill is needed after the big oil spill disaster in Golf of Mexico.
