Jailed drug lord of Colombia pleads for home

Carlos LehderA Colombian drug lord Carlos Lehder is now pleading for his return to his own country. He has been one of the co-founders of Medellin drug cartel. He has written to president of Colombia Mr. Alvaro Uribe requesting to allow him to return home.

Carlos is a citizen of Colombia and he had been handed over to US in 1987. He is behind the bars till now and has spent a punishment of 55 years in the prison. He was arrested then for smuggling of drugs to the US countries. Now he is asking the Government to leave him free and allow him to go back to his home to live rest of his life in peace.

He has also asked Manuel Noriega the former Panamanian leader to help him out in such situation. A Colombian newspaper has informed in an article about Lehder's letter to the president in which he said that he has been jailed for 55 years of this precious life as per rules and regulation of the jail. He has also asked for help from the Government to allow him to come out of the jail now.
