Flash replacement Gianduia, Apple

Apple-AdobeApple is releasing Gianduia format, in replacement of Flash.

This news puts an end to the war of words amidst Apple and Adobe and puts Gainduia on-board. It comes as a substitute for Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight platforms, on its mobile devices.

And this move aligns with Apple's earlier statement that it would rather prefer HTML5, JavaScript and CSS than go with Adobe's Flash.

The Ganduai was publicized at World of WebObjects Developer Conference, portraying it as a client-friendly, standards-based framework for Rich Internet Apps to create quality online apps for its retail users.

This already available technology supports retail applications such as One to One program, iPhone reservation system and Concierge program for Genius Bar and Personal Shopping reservations.

In lieu of this launch, CEO of Apple Steve Jobs said, "We know from painful experience that letting a third-party layer of software come between the platform and the developer ultimately results in substandard apps, and hinders the enhancement and progress of the platform."
