Vedanta’s net profit has gone three times higher

Vedanta-ResourcesMetals and mining company Vedanta Resources has announced its financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and has managed to post an outstanding net profit and revenue. The firm has posted a net profit that is almost three times higher than that of the preceding year.

Its net profit for the year has reported to be USD 602.3 million for the year the preceding year. This has been informed by an official statement form Vedanta.

So far as the total revenue of the company is concerned, it has touched USD 7.93 billion for the year. The net revenue has gone up by 21% against the previous fiscal year.

Vedanta Resources Plc Chairman, Mr. Anil Agarwal has informed that the company has managed to post a strong year end result. The low cost position, diversified revenues and record production growth across all businesses has helped the firm to register a mammoth net profit and revenue figures.

The annual production of iron ore from the company has risen by 34% in this year with aluminum and zinc was up by 15.4% and 4.7% respectively.
