Ubisoft pacifies users with free DLC

UbisoftIt is believed that the Ubisoft is giving away free map packs from previously paid package to make up for the outage horrors.

Assassin's Creed II for PC witnessed an outage last month due to Ubisoft's new Digital Rights Management system and shall offer free downloadable content for the sufferers. Adding further, Assassin's Creed II game's official message boards have posted an apology email to all the gamers who faced the problems.

The free DLC (downloadable content) which the board has issued lists maps for the Black Edition of the game. This was a setback for all those who paid extra for purchasing the map enabled edition.

The problem initiates from Ubisoft's newly introduced DRM systems that require the gamers to be online and post their saved games on Ubisoft's servers. At the starting of the month when the server was down PC owners failed to play and thus resulted in an outage. As per the official forum stated , Ubisoft stated an apology which read, "Following the recent temporary game server outages which may have caused disruption to some Assassin's Creed 2 players on PC only, we would like to reward your patience if you have experienced any problems by offering you some additional content - previously only available with special editions."

The above information clearly hinted the freebies in form of maps which are from Assassin's Creed II Black Edition. And the original owners are still left out if they will be compensated with the same content or not.
