Attrition level at Mahindra Satyam set to rise
According to report by Forrester, the attrition rate at Mahindra Satyam, which is already at a 20% level, is set to rise even further as the people who left the company after the sensational disclosure by Ramalinga Raju are attracting the top talent of the IT major into various other corporate houses.
Notably, during January 2009, when Raju accepted the forgery in accounts several top executives left the company. The most important names out of the lot were Keshab Panda (now CEO of L&T Integrated engineering services), Subu D Subramanian (currently CEO of Defiance Tech), and Virender Aggarwal (now Senior VP at HCL Technologies) among the many other who left the beleaguered company on its own.
In fact, even in the recessionary times, when job security was a major issue, people continued to leave the IT-major making its attrition level to touch 25% which was way higher as compared to the competition, namely TCS, Infosys and Wipro. However, analysts are of a view that the employee churn is high as it is calculated on a 12-month basis and on the business aspect; the IT major is well under control of its operations.
