Too many turn to gambling in UK
UK has seen a sudden spurt in the number of people who have started gambling. A research done by Research by Credit Action (RCA), a charity firm shows that out of every 10 adults in the UK, almost one has switched to gambling.
This, as the report suggests, has been done since the people are taking solace in gambling to be able to manage their finances.
This is a matter of serious concern, since the money involved in gambling is not very productive in nature and it does not help the economy in any way.
While this trend is being openly supported by the gambling companies, counsellors are finding it tough to get the people out of this habit.
Chirs Trapp of RCA says that the people are using gambling as a means to meet their daily costs since they don't have much money at the end of the month. It is now becoming a tool to get out of desperation.
Even counsellors are saying that the patients who come to them look at gambling as an easy means to earn money.
