Some Stocks worth investing in 2008
There are some stocks which are looking good for a long term investment. I am not a stock market expert, so I will be happy to get view of other members on this website as well. Please do add your comments if you think I am wrong or right.
1. IDBI - The stock is looking good at current levels after the recent drop in stock markets. I will suggest a buy at current levels for a long term target of Rs. 180
2. Torrent Power – This stock is also good as Power Sector is looking good for long term. The stock has seen a very fast correction after the failure of Reliance Power.
3. Reliance Power – Again, there is a factor of Power Sector outperforming the general market. Second important point is Reliance group behind this company. Reliance has offered decent returns to long term investors and it will do in future as well. I feel that the stock has the power to reach Rs 500 by the end of March this year. It may go up to Rs 700 by the end of this year. This will depend on the market condition largely.
4. Neyveli Lignite - I find this stock interesting as it is a PSU counter. If the reforms with the PSU go fine, the stock may gain.
5. ITI – This stock has been correcting from its high of Rs 87. I will say that this is a high risk stock as it is usually frozen in upper or lower circuit. Being a PSU, things depend on government policies. There was a news in December that government will do a lot of things to bring this unit into profit. Things may change fast and the stock may offer a return of 50 – 70 % over a period of 3 months. It may not go below Rs. 30 as per my view.
I have given my views and I have also invested in these stocks around these levels. I do not believe much in views of Technical Analysts. They are usually offering some advice which works for only a few traders. As I am long term trader, I will prefer to find my own picks and bet on them.
Also, I will be looking out for your views and your list of best stocks for future. If you could also make a list with the reasons behind each stock you prefer, it will be much easier for other members to make a wise investment decision.
