Wipro Infotech secures 9-year-outsourcing contract from Aircel
Technology & BPO giant Wipro has announced that its unit Wipro Infotech has won a 9-year outsourcing contract from Chennai-based Aircel, a Maxis group company.
Wipro Infotech, the company having presence in India, Middle East and Asia Pacific in IT Business, is a leading provider of IT solutions with a comprehensive suite of offerings.
While, Aircel, a domestic telecommunications company currently operates in ten circles across India and has an estimated 9.5 million subscribers. The company also has licenses to expand its presence in 13 additional circles over next 18-24 months.
The long-term deal involves Wipro transforming Aircel's operations by delivering a future-ready IT platform and deploying best practices and tools for offering its subscribers a seamless service spanning voice, data and multimedia content.
Expert said that the new architecture will enable Aircel to launch the next generation of services such as 3G, WiMax and mobile TV.

During the last two years, Wipro Infotech has won 10 outsourcing assignments including the high value orders from Dena Bank and HDFC Bank.
