Sukhwinder, Rahman To Perform ‘Live’ At The ‘Oscars’!
It’s true that two ‘Live’ performers at this year ‘Oscars’ are from India.
Ace Bollywood singers A R Rahman and Sukhwinder Singh have got an invitation to perform ‘Live’ at the 81st annual Academy Awards night, on February 22 in Los Angeles.
The Mozart of Madras Rahman will open the ‘Oscar Night’ along with Sukhi, with ‘Jai Ho’ from the Danny Boyle's movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
Slumdog Millionaire, which recently won 4 Golden Globe awards, also created a huge buzz at the well-known SAG awards.
This time, the film is also considered a favorite runner in the ‘Oscar’ race.
It has also been reported that Rahman has already started working on the song to let it to be in perfect synchronization with the live orchestra, though an official confirmation is still awaited.
After winning India's first Golden Globe, A R Rahman once again created history when his compositions Jai ho along with O Saaya received nominations for the Best Original Song category this year at the Oscars. Rahman has also been nominated for giving the Best Original Score for Slumdog Millionaire.
A R Rahman has been nominated in three categories including the best music score and for composing two songs ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘O Saya’.
Well-known lyricist Gulzar, who has also been nominated with Rahman for the song ‘Jai Ho’, is also expected to be present at the gala award ceremony.
