MSN enlisted as web portal spreading porn in China
New Delhi, January 9 : A second list of web portals violating China's Internet regulations includes Microsoft''s MSN China.
The list of 14 portals has been compiled by the China Internet Illegal Information Reporting Center (CIIRC) as the Government continues its nationwide crackdown on Internet pornography.
The CIIRC said in a statement that all the enlisted portals contained content that either was against public morality or harmed children''s psychological health.
It further said that MSN China's movie and community sections contained a large number of lewd pictures.
According to the China Daily, a Xinhua news agency report revealed that Chinese authorities launched a major crackdown on Internet porn on Monday targeting popular online portals and major search engines such as Google and Baidu.
They said that Google had cleaned up most of the unhealthy content in its search results, although more work still needed to be done. (ANI)
