92% revellers tested positive for drug at Juhu rave party
Mumbai Police had arrested many revellers for taking drugs at the Juhu pub two months ago on October 5, 2008. 92% of them have been found positive during the drug tests. The state forensic science laboratory reported that many girls tested positive for Ecstasy or MDMA.
A total of 246 revellers were detained by the Anti-Narcotic Cell and 227 of them were tested positive for drugs. Deputy Commissioner Vishwas Nangre-Patil said: “The state forensic laboratory submitted reports in three stages. In the first two stages, 146 people out of 163 tested positive. In the third stage, 81 of 83 people-which come to 98%- have tested positive.”
15 persons were arrested for selling, distributing and possessing the drugs such as ecstasy, marijuana and cannabis.
They all were booked under the sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Patil said, “Around 90 youngsters have surrendered and the rest will be arrested soon. Those who tested positive can voluntarily choose to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation or face a maximum jail sentence of one year.”
Police reported that Aditya Pancholi’s daughter Sana has also been tested positive for consuming drugs but they were not clear about Shakti Kapoor’s son Siddhant, whether he was found positive or not.
