Nintendo’s Wii Mini console to hit UK stores on March 22

Nintendo’s Wii Mini console to hit UK stores on March 22In a recent confirmation about the availability of its Wii Mini console in the UK, Nintendo said that its overhauled, pint-sized gaming console - which essentially will be a smaller version of the company's original Wii console - will hit the UK stores on March 22.

The Wii Mini console is effectively a scaled-down classic Wii, whose size has been reduced marginally and it has a black casing with red band. The console will come along with shiny red Wiimote and Nunchuck controllers.

In addition, Nintendo has also brought on a selection of four new titles - including Mario Party 8, Mario Power Tennis, Super Paper Mario, and Wii Sports Resort - to its budget Nintendo Selects range of games.

According to reports, Nintendo has been able to reduce the size as well as cost of the Wii Mini console by eliminating some features of the original console, including its Internet connection, the SD Card Slot, and the backwards compatibility of the GameCube game.

Despite the fact that Nintendo has made no official disclosure about the retail cost of the Wii Mini console, it is being speculated that the device will likely be priced in the range of between £70 and £80. The speculations are apparently based on the fact that when the Wii Mini was released in Canada in November, its retail price was $99.
