New cars pushing the old leaders out

New cars pushing the old leaders outIt is for the first time that the American automaker Ford Motor Company has realised the need for the second shift at its Maraimalai Nagar factory in Chennai. In fact, the realisation is mostly to cope up with the surge in demand for its products and mostly the hatchback Figo. There have been almost 15,000 booking for the Figo in the past eight months and the company is facing a hard time to meet the demands of the Indian consumer.

However, when it comes to the SUV segment, Toyota outshines Fortuner as the company is giving a hard time to the Endeavour model from Ford. The company has seen a whopping increase in the unit sales of the Fortuner and is facing a situation of inadequate availability of kits.

The bookings have been close since February and the company believes that reopening the bookings will not be possible before the end of next month.

The same is scenario with the Volkswagen Polo which has a waiting period of almost five months. The fact that most of its critical components are imported is making the consumer wait but these new cars have been giving the earlier leaders in the segment a very tough time.
