Nerve-racking working schedules results in obesity

ObesityResearchers at University of Rochester Medical Center performed a study and notice that nerve-racking working conditions and lack of exercise results in obesity or over weight. They have examined few employees and found that 72% to 75% of employees are overweight.

Lead author Diana Fernandez, an epidemiologist at the URMC Department of Community and Preventive Medicine, said that a company should find the ways to encourage their employees to involve in physical activities during their stressful working days. This study is just like any other study which link high job pressure with cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, depression, exhaustion, anxiety and weight gain.

She also said that, companies in a poor economy should try to find out the ways to reduce the pressure on employees and cut down their long working hours. Company should also take measures to provide a good and healthy life to his employees.

Study also exposes that intake of fruits and vegetables balance diets of those employees who are deskbound and faces obesity as a consequence of job stress.

Exercise is also considered as another alternative to keep one away from stress and preserve his health.
