Nepal to chart security strategies for Narayanhiti palace

Kathmandu, May 31 : Nepal Government has constituted a committee to formulate a security strategy plan for Narayanhiti palace within a week.

According to Nepalnews, the seven-member team led by joint secretary of the Home Ministry Mod Raj Dotel includes the representatives from all security agencies and security chief of the palace.

The government had already formed another committee under the chairmanship of the secretary of the Ministry of General Administration Gobinda Kusum to tally the properties and file the documents at the palace.

Earlier the government had issued a formal letter to former king Gyanendra Shah and the palace secretariat to vacate the Narayanhiti palace within fifteen days as directed by the first Constituent Assembly (CA) meeting.

Along with the letter, a single photocopy of the direction and proposal passed by the CA meeting to implement the republic and the amendment made to the interim constitution with the provision of a president have also been dispatched. (ANI)
